Elisa
As a part of a summer trainee application for Elisa, I was given a task of how I would present their broadband products on their website. After determining the preferred device, objectives, target audience and possible problems, I designed a broadband matchmaker.

The longer story
I was instructed to only use a few hours in the assignment. Due to this I conducted five short interviews with my friends who fit the target group (age 20-32). The main finding was, that they didn’t understand what they actually needed.
The problem could be solved by having the service provider and the potential client speak the same language. The differences of broadbands needed to be explained simply and shortly. I had several layout options running through my head, such as simple pictures, text and tables, but I also wondered how to make the choosing more fun and fit on the preferred device (mobile). I also wanted to stand out of the crowd of applicants. That is why I chose the matchmaker.
Matchmaker gives a user approximately 10 questions regarding their internet use, for example “I watch a lot of Netflix or other streaming service”. If the answer to the question is yes, the user swipes right, if the answer is no the user swipes left. The user can also pass a question. After the user has answered all the questions the Matchmaker shows them their one true broadband. As some don’t believe in perfect soulmates, the Matchmaker still displays other possible options for the user. If the user doesn’t want to play, they can also skip the Matchmaker and go straight to the different options.
I learned to use Sketch as well as how to implement a design system. If I had extra time, I would’ve focused more on the preliminary research and determining the questions. I would’ve also conducted user testing and AB testing with a less irregular design to determine which one the target audience prefers.
If I would do the project again today, I would go with the other option (picture above) as it’s more user friendly by giving the user more choice. It also gives the client more options instead of just yes and no answers. I would also be able to make it more visually pleasing as my visual design skills have improved.
